Challenge Programme
The Asia-Pacific World Schools Golf Challenge will be staged in The Mornington Peninsula, Melbourne, Australia the week after Easter Sunday, 2012.
Host Clubs
Three exceptional quality clubs will host the tournament. St Andrews Beach Golf Club, Eagle Ridge and Moonah Links are the selected courses for the 2012 Asia-Pacific World Schools Golf Challenge. Moonah Links was home to the 2003 and 2005 Australian Open, the course is world class and has excellent spectator and viewing decks.
Schedule of Play
One round a day will be played at each host club. The format will be a shot-gun start (time to be advised). All teams will receive a copy of the draw and starting times nearer to the tournament.
Tournament Programme
Teams must arrive in Melbourne on or prior to April 9th and settle into their selected accommodation.
Practice rounds at players expense will be available at host clubs and details about the special tournament rates will be given to teams nearer the tournament.
Monday April 9th
An opportunity for a last minute practice round. Later that afternoon the Team Managers Meeting, Opening ceremony and Welcome Party will be held—it will feature traditional Australian cultural entertainment and a substantial buffet — all in the company of young high school golfers from all over the world.
Tuesday April 10th
Teams will make their own arrangements to get to their Host Club for the first round of the 2011 world Schools golf Challenge. Full clubhouse catering facilities will be available each day of the tournament at each host club. The rest of the day will be at leisure. There will be many optional tours.
Wednesday April 11th
Teams will make their own arrangements to get to their host Club for the second round of the 2012 world Schools Golf Challenge. The rest of the day is at leisure or to experience one of the local touring options.
Thursday April 12th
Teams will make their own arrangements to get to their host Club for the third round of the 2012 world Schools Golf Challenge. The rest of the day is at leisure or to experience one of the local touring options.
Friday April 13th
Teams will make their own arrangements to get their Host Club for the final round of the World Schools Golf Challenge. Early evening teams, parents, schools staff and supporters will make their own way to the finale prize giving and announcement of the teams who get the silverware in 2012.
Saturday April 14th
Its time to say farewell to the Mornington Peninsula and all your new found friends. Teams will make their own arrangements for transfers to the airport or to their post tournament touring options.
Optional Tours and Activities
A programme of special activities is being developed for parents, school staff and supporters accompanying the teams. This programme will include optional tours, shopping excursions and golf outings and details will be advised as teams enter.
