The DVD is also up on the website and can be viewed here>>
Forward this message to a team-mate, colleague or golf coach who may be interested in being part of the World Schools Golf Challenge.
Organisers have also produced a tournament brochure which can be viewed or downloaded as a PDF. Go to the home page here then click on “Tournament Brochure”. We also have a range of brochures about South Australia and Adelaide to assist you in your planning.
To request a copy of the DVD and the publicity material, send an email to the tournament office here >>>
The tournament is a four-round stroke play event with team and individual gross and nett competitions. The 4 student teams can be boys, girls or mixed. Students must be aged from 13 to 19.
Organisers expect to attract at least 80 teams from high schools in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, Asia, New Zealand and South Africa, as well as from throughout Australia.
There are no qualifications required beyond being a member of a school team, having a recognised golf handicap, a love of the game of golf and a desire to meet other college golfers from around the world and to experience all that Australia (and South Australia in particular) has to offer.
The beauty of the tournament is that entry is not limited to one school per country – any school can participate and there is no limit to the number of teams that a single school can enter.

Auckland Grammar School (AGC) is a boys-only state secondary school in Auckland, New Zealand. It teaches from years 9 to 13. It is one of the largest schools in New Zealand and is known for its unusual architectural style.
Auckland Grammar School is one of the most famous Auckland colleges and among many highlights has produced over 50 All Blacks. It has an enviable tradition of excellence in academic and sporting achievements. In the past 10 years AGC teams have been NZ champions in 1st XV rugby, Soccer, Hockey, Cycling, Wrestling, Weightlifting, Rowing, Tennis, Orienteering, Yachting, Chess, Golf, Table Tennis and Under 15 Rugby.
Consistently, each year AGS field students in Auckland Secondary School competitions with representation in 45 different sports. In 2005, this represented a total of over 3000 players over winter and summer sports supported by a full commitment from ninety plus staff in coaching and managerial roles.
A huge number of boys from this school have gone on to represent their Province and New Zealand in a wide range of sports and endeavours. Probably the best internationally known old boy was Sir Edmund Hillary.

Four of the most popular clubs in Adelaide will host the 2009 WSGC practise and tournament rounds. In this newsletter we visit another host club
Situated on the sandbelt at West Lakes, Riverside Golf Club provides a quality 18 hole golf course with excellent greens and is playable in all weather conditions. The course is generally flat, with well bunkered, narrow couch fairways and very good bent grass greens.
Changes and improvements have been made over the years the most recent of them being redesigning the course. It was completed in 2002.
The reconstructions and renovations in the Riverside Golf Club, Adelaide has resulted in a tight and challenging Par 70 layout of 5508 meters. With an excellent clubhouse and a pro shop staff, Riverside offers a unique golfing environment to be savoured.
The club is looking forward to hosting rounds of the WSGC next year. You can visit the club’s website at www.riversidegolfclub.com.au/
The Adelaide Shores Holiday Village will be the nerve centre of the tournament and organisers hope that as many teams as possible will stay at this unique property. Not only does it offer well-priced self-catering accommodation and leisure facilities but both tournament social functions will be hosted at the Adelaide Shores Function Centre.
The Village is located right on the beach at West Beach in a 125-hectare Coastal Recreation Reserve – about 15 minutes from the centre of Adelaide. It offers excellent self-contained accommodation including 2 & 3 bedroom deluxe bungalows and 2-bedroom villas and a bunkhouse – ideal for school golf teams. Both styles of accommodation have spacious living areas and fully equipped kitchens.
Visit the tournament website www.worldschoolsgolf.com for details about the various accommodation options available. Please note that prices quoted on the website for bungalows and villas are based on full occupancy of these facilities. If there is less than full occupancy prices will need to be adjusted accordingly.
